Making the Bright Lights of Chicago


Produced by Jam Handy Corporation for the Chevrolet Motor Company, this seven-minute reel highlighted the work required to maintain the Chevrolet sign on Michigan Avenue. In addition to day- and night-time views of the city, the advertising film also provided viewers with a sense of the dangerous work required to maintain the sign as well as short lessons on the mechanics of electric lighting.
