Tower Lakes, IL

Lake County, 36 miles NW of the Loop. Tucked into the southwest corner of Lake County, Tower Lakes is a 1.1 square-mile village that encompasses two artificial lakes, Tower Lake and North Lake. The area was mostly farmland until 1923, when D&B Partnership created the lakes and sub- divided the property. A favorite weekend spot for Chicagoans, the village was incorporated in 1966. Population stood at 1,310 in 2000.
