Prairie Grove, IL

McHenry County, 43 miles NW of the Loop. The village of Prairie Grove is located within Nunda Township in southeastern McHenry County. When the village incorporated in 1973, the rural locale's population of 434 residents was barely dense enough to qualify for incorporation. Since then land annexations, including manufacturing sites, have more than doubled the size of the village, which had a population of 960 in 2000.
