Home and Training School for Nurses, Hahnemann Hospital, 1909. Following larger trends within the medical profession, homeopaths established Hahnemann Hospital in 1871 to provide students with practical training. By the beginning of the twentieth century, Chicago had become the center for homeopathic medical education within the United States. The hospital also provided a course of instruction for nurses.
