Once a common feature of many shopping areas, "dime stores" like this Grayslake store in the 1950s have disappeared from most neighborhoods. Their wide collections of goods, services, and conveniences are now found in ninety-nine-cent stores, grocery stores, drug stores, and large discount stores.
