Western Electric Company | ||||
Between 1924 and 1933, Western Electric conducted a large study of worker productivity at its Hawthorne Electrical Works in Cicero. With a team from Harvard Business School, the company created test environments in the plant to evaluate their impact on productivity, in addition to studying how external influences such as home life, upbringing, and diet. Between 1928 and 1930 alone, researchers interviewed some 21,000 employees.
