Turner Camp, Cary, 1919 | ||||
Turnvereins in Northern Illinois joined together in the 1910s to build a camp in Cary. Turners and their families could vacation there, staying in tents and later cabins, and take advantage of lake swimming, boating, hiking, and other athletic activities while getting away from the city. This 1919 postcard shows members participating in an open-air gymnasium.
