Free Public Bathhouse, 1950 | ||||
This 1950 photo by Mildred Mead shows the still-operating William Mavor bath, constructed in 1900 and named after a Chicago alderman. The third municipal bath opened by the city of Chicago, it was located at 4645 Gross (later McDowell) Avenue.
