Dill Pickle Club Advertisement | ||||
One of many "little theaters" in Chicago during the 1910s and 1920s, the Dill Pickle Club featured plays by Strindberg, Ibsen, O'Neill, and Ben Hecht. The low-budget productions featured homemade sets and amateur actors. Along with jazz dances, art shows, and lectures, theater productions drew an eclectic audience of bohemians, young working people, and adventure-seeking middle-class Chicagoans.
