Henry B. Clarke House, 1934 | ||||
The Henry B. Clarke House, one of the oldest buildings in Chicago, was built in 1836 and stood near Sixteenth Street and Michigan Avenue. After the 1871 fire, the structure was moved to 45th Street and Wabash Avenue (it is seen here at that site in 1934). The Clarke House was later moved to 1855 South Indiana, becoming part of the Prairie Avenue Historic District.
