Majetic Saloon, c.1903 | ||||
The saloon pictured here, owned by John Majetic (with hat and mustache, and right foot on the step), was located at 8957 S. Green Bay Avenue, just blocks from U.S. Steel's South Works. Majetic was a Croatian immigrant and the sign "Horvatsko Slovenski Dom" announced the bar as "Croatian Slovene Home."
