"Opposing Much Needed Civic Improvements," c.1922 | ||||
This lantern slide, prepared as part of the campaign to build support for proposals in the
Plan of Chicago, was adapted from an editorial cartoon by the
Chicago Tribune's John McCutcheon that originally appeared on September 26, 1922. McCutcheon depicts wealthy property owners who once opposed the plan for financial reasons as having come to acknowledge the errors of their ways after they see how much the improvement of the city as a whole has also benefited them personally.
