Calumet Harbor Dedication Ceremony, 1956

Seen here is Mayor Richard J. Daley touring the Calumet Harbor on June 30, 1956. Improvements for create a Great-Lakes-to-Gulf Waterway were completed in anticipation of the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1959.
